Pets in Books

Azzurro

Pets bring a certain warmth of character to a book, and often bring out the best in the hero and heroine.
In my novel Princess, Azzurro has an entire rugby team under his furry paw, but then he is a very regal and playful feline, and he knows what he wants. He doubles as a therapy cat at Celinia's dentistry, calming and distracting patients from their fears. And has the entire run of the palace. (And he's been known for completely ignoring the king's commands.)

How could anyone resist this furry face? Il Gatto Reale. The Royal Cat. He truly is quite regal, isn't he?

In my novel David's Dilemma you will encounter two mischievous canines. Dane, who is in the story from the start, and Scruffy who joins them later, though frankly both dogs are a little on the scruffy side. But they bring humor and mischief to the story.

Dane
Dane as you can imagine, is frequently in need of a bath. He loves to dig giant holes in the garden, which I hope will give you some idea of at least one of the scenes in the book.

Scruffy
Scruffy, who is much smaller and a little insecure at first, follows his bigger buddy around, and gets into mischief with him. But the pair are loveable matchmakers in the end.
